To get to Second Level, students have to possess:

  • a Conservatory Degree or a degree from an Institute of Music officially recognised together with a normal High School Diploma or equivalent degree;
  • one first Level Degree from a Conservatory or an officially recognised Institute of Music ;
  • a University Degree or equivalent degree. Moreover the students must be able to demonstrate they master the necessary musical abilities to play the admission exam program according to the course chosen.

As the number of students for these courses is limited the candidates must pass a selection exam that consists of a test proving their musical abilities. For more details about the programme related to this exam see the Italian version Diplomi di II livello-piani di studio

Students attending the same level course in other Conservatories are not admitted.

European and Extraeuropean students are allowed by the Italian laws to study in Italian conservatories. To enter the Second Level Courses the students must pass a test to prove their knowledge of the Italian language. In addition each student will be tutored by a teacher during the academic course. The tutor will be chosen by the student among the teachers of the course. The tutor’s task is to help, to assist, to orientate the students during their study course and to suggest a right studying method .

All the enrolled students can participate to international projects (exchanges with similar Institutions) according to the annual notice published by the Institute of Music “G.B. Pergolesi”.
