According to the law n°508 of 1999 on rearrangement of school programmes and of the administrative functions of the Italian Conservatories, the Institute of Music “G.B. Pergolesi” organises, besides traditional teaching, Second-Level two-year courses, equivalent to University levels and authorized by the Ministry of Education. The contents of these courses have been chosen according to the current teaching requirements, and besides the traditional subjects, they focus on the cultural enrichment of the students and on new technologies. This new academic title conforms to European teaching standards, both to facilitate the students’ insertion in the world of musical profession in Italy and abroad, and to renew traditional teaching.
